"Service Contracts" Update
This will make all previous versions of "Service Contracts" "Y2K
Ready".
This update should only be used to update "Service Contracts" programs whose last
five digits of there serial number are 29999or less. If you have a
program whose serial number is higher than this, DO NOT INSTALL THIS UPDATE, it will be
older that the copy you currently have.
An example of a "Service Contracts" serial number is SC-095726-12345, the red
is the number you need to include in the form below.
Svc0720.exe can be used to update your copy of the Service Contracts to
incorporate changes that have been made to improve the program's performance, provide
additional capabilities, and address Y2K concerns.
This "Service Contracts" free update is only available on
this web site via download.
The additions/changes include:
* A revised screen design that eliminates the need to scroll to hidden
portions of the screen when creating/editing contracts or form letters
and allows use of screen settings higher than 640 x 480.
* The addition of optional title lines on form letters and post cards.
* The addition of an import capability that allows you to import customer
lists from other sources to your Non-Contract database.
* The addition of the ability to move customers from your Non-Contract to
Contract database.
* A change in FIND. Previous versions automatically showed all entries
when you clicked on a yellow field. Now, a list will not appear until you
type a letter or number in the yellow window.
* A change in START and END DATE on your contract customers screen.
The program will force a standard format to ensure that any search by
date will produce accurate results when producing mailings.
* Changes in the search portion of the mail section of the program to
assure that you get accurate results and always enter valid search
criteria. A pop up message will appear if an invalid Y2K related search
by date is attempted.
* Various other changes included to improve performance and respond to user requests.
To install the update:
1. Download Svc0720.exe to your computer.
2. Place the file in a temporary folder/directory and run it to expand the
compressed files it contains.
3. Copy all files in your temporary directory except Svc0720.exe to the
SVCCON directory/folder on your computer. When asked if you want to
overwrite the existing files, click on YES TO ALL.
4. Start the Service Contracts program. You will be taken to the Setup
screen and asked to insert Disk Number 4. Insert Disk Number 3 from
your original set of program diskettes.
5. Re-enter your address and other information shown on the Setup screen
and click on Exit Setup. When asked to make sure Disk Number 4 is in
your floppy drive, make sure Disk Number 3 is in your floppy drive.
Note: The database containing any pre-defined contract text or post
card/letter you have created or changed in the Mail portions of the program
will be lost due to a change in the file format for the mail database. Any
post card or form letter text will have to be re-entered.
