Y2K Info
Y2K Defined
Rather than trying to fit someone else's definition and there are lots, let us
define exactly what we mean in relation to our software.
Y2K Ready
The first thing is the term. We call it "Y2K Ready"
"Y2K Ready" means that the program before, during and after the date change
from December 31, 1999 @ 11:59 PM to January 1, 2000 @ 12:01 AM and on will function as it
was designed to and will correctly store, process, calculate, compare, display data as per
the programs design. Further the program will neither stop functioning, lock up or provide
inaccurate information as a result of the date change....Period!
Y2K Updates
ALL of our currently shipping programs are Y2K ready.
We will provide Y2K upgrades to existing programs that meet the requirements below free
of charge for users to download off this web site. Check here for update information, as
we will post a link here to the free Y2K upgrades when they become available for each
effected program.

"QUICK LOADS" RESIDENTIAL AND LIGHT
COMMERCIAL
LOAD CALCULATIONS - "Y2K Ready"

"BIDS", QUOTES, ESTIMATES, AND PROPOSALS - "Y2K Ready" This program does not perform any
date related functions. Dates are used for individual document dating purposes only.
As a result, no Y2K related issues apply with the exception of the possibility that if the
system date on the computer being used is incorrect, the incorrect date will be
automatically entered as the document date. The date would then need to be changed on the
applicable data screen by the user. It is impossible for any program to directly ascertain
whether or not the date supplied by the computer is correct. Click

"FAILSAFE" REFRIGERANT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM -
"Y2K Ready" If a user of program with the
last five digits of there serial number is 20250 or less attempts to create a report
covering a period starting before the year 2000 and ending in the year 2000 or later (such
as refrigerant use from December 1999 thru January 2000) no results will be printed since
using a two digit year dating system, the year 99 is greater than the year 00. The program
will not not crash or produce a report containing only a portion of the requested
information. The limitation can be overcome by printing separate reports for periods
ending December 31, 1999. and beginning January 1, 2000 and combining the results. Since
the information stored in the program is typically reported on a calendar year basis
(Example: 1999 Refrigerant Use), the limitation should not be a concern to most users. An
updated version of the program that addresses the issue will be available to users with a
serial number whose last five digits are -20250 or earlier.

"SERVICE CONTRACTS" - "Y2K
Ready" If a user attempts to produce a mailing using contract
starting/ending dates as the search criteria and the search covers a period starting
before the year 2000 and ending in the year 2000 or later, no results will be printed
since using a two digit year dating system, the year 99 is greater than the year 00. The
program will not not crash or print labels/post cards/addresses for only a portion
of the target group. The limitation can be overcome by performing separate printings for
periods ending December 31, 1999. and beginning January 1, 2000. An updated version of the
program that addresses the issue will be available at no charge to users with version 2.00
or earlier.
